5 Ways to Look Refreshed After a Hectic Schedule

Demanding deadlines, multiple commitments, and never-ending errands. The need to keep on top of these things is tiring and often takes a toll on our appearance. Fortunately, however, it is not impossible to still look healthy and refreshed while tackling a hectic schedule.

1. Drink your way to dewy skin

 

Considering that a large percentage of our body is water, it is only fitting that “more water” is the answer to just about everything—including looking refreshed. When we are dehydrated, we look and feel tired—we lose focus, our skin looks sallow, and even wrinkles become more prominent.
 
This is because dehydration decreases our blood volume, which means that we do not get as much blood to our brain and our heart has to pump faster. This, in turn, diverts the blood away from our face, causing us to look drained and gray. So start knocking back that eight glasses a day now to look more refreshed.

 

 

2. Sweat now, shine later!

 

Yes, we know that your to-do list is longer than the grocery list but trust us, a little exercise will do wonders—any exercise that gets your heart rate up is great. It could be a quick run, a Pilates session, or even just some fun dancing! Like Ariana Grande said, “Nothing burns more calories than dancing in 5-inch heels…try it!”

3. Immerse your face in ice water

If you are not quite ready to jump in yet, start with your face first. Fill your sink with the cold water, add a few ice cubes to turn it up a notch, and simply splash the water on your face to achieve that refreshed complexion.

 


 

4. De- puff the eyes to look fresh 
 

It’s all about the eyes! Puffy eyes and dark circles are dead giveaways that you did not get your full eight hours. To combat this, put two spoons in the freezer for 10-15 minutes and then apply to each eye. The cold will help to calm the inflammation. Alternatively, the ascorbic and caffeic acids in cold cucumber slices are excellent at relieving redness, puffiness, and irritation.
